Dear Music Lovers,
Lakshmi and RaviKumar have initiated to coordinate, with the support of HCO, a new event called “Sangeetha Samarpanam” in our Dayton Hindu Temple on the 3rd Sunday of every month. The first event will be held on June 21st, 2015. This recurring event will offer our devotions to Lord Venkateswara and other deities immediately after the Sunday abhishegam/aarthi is completed.
- We invite all the music artists with knowledge of Manodharmam to present their sangeetha samarpanam to Lord Venkateswara.
- In order to encourage greater participation from the talented members of our community, we request that a minimum of three artists perform together, including accompaniments.
- This strictly Hindu devotional music event may include vocal and instrumental in Carnatic, Hindustani, bhajans, Hari kathas, and abhangs.
- The duration is one hour and the presenters will need to bring their own accompaniments.
- Individuals who are interested may call Ravikumar at 937-558-0463 or send an email to daytonaradhana@gmail.com
- We request that you contact us at least 1 week in advance, and we will accommodate you on a “first come first serve” basis. If your requested date is unavailable, we will gladly consider you for a different date of your choice.
- In order to encourage greater participation from the community, the main artist may not be repeated for a year but they may re-apply after 12 months.
- If you have any questions, please feel free to call us or send an email to daytonaradhana@gmail.com
This is a good platform for up and coming artists, and for teachers to promote their students. Thank you for your enthusiastic support and participation as performers and audience! Activities such as these will help bring our community together and provide meaningful connection to Hindu culture and religion for the next generation!
Sincerely,
Ravikumar and Lakshmi
